Why Would We Ever Believe Oily Politicians And Bureaucrats.

November 16, 2012

These are some short videos of the administration talking about energy.

Three days after the election the administration closes 1.6 million acres of land previously opened for shale oil development. Read here at The Hill.

Tell me that this Charlie Brown cartoon about Lucy pulling the football away after promising not to, isn’t exactly our situation with all Politicians and Government agents. Never trust them, even if you have verification.

The Result of The Break Down of The Rule of Law.

November 15, 2012

If the rule of law is defined as “general rules, known in advance, and applying to the rulers as well as the ruled”, than the breakdown of the rule of law is caused by government making laws that are micro managing, so numerous we can’t possibly know them in advance, and not applying to the rulers, only to the ruled. The expansion of Government regulations and mandates into every aspect of our lives has led to a push back. This video shows how a truck driver deals with Government agents at a check point twenty miles inside the border of the state of Texas. You can watch videos like this all day. Citizens are starting to assert their fourth and fifth amendment rights when they are stopped by police or other Government agents.

Citizens are not complying with what seem like simple and reasonable requests by police and Government agents. Go to youtube and type in “police abuse of power”, and watch videos of police and Government agents bullying, intimidating, and abusing the very citizens they are supposed to protect. This escalation of force is going to be met with an equal escalation of resistance. (more…)

Thomas Sowell’s Take On The Federal Reserve.

November 13, 2012

When asked, “if you get rid of the Federal Reserve, what do you replace it with?”. Thomas Sowell answers, “When someone removes a cancer, what do you replace it with?”

You can read more about the Fed in this short article titled “Fed Up With The Fed?” by Thomas Sowell at jewishworleview.com.

This is a quote from  the article, “It is not politically possible for either the Federal Reserve or the Obama administration to leave the economy alone and let it recover on its own. Both are under pressure to “do something.” If one thing doesn’t work, then they have to try something else. And if that doesn’t work, they have to come up with yet another gimmick.”

Remember our discussion about Human Action in a previous post, Mises’ “Human Action” Explains Lies About Libya. Use the lens of “Human Action” to analyze the actions of the Federal Reserve. These are quotes from a speech in late September by Richard Fisher Dallas Fed President, excerpted from an article from Fox Business.

“We’ve never been here before so none of us know how we’re going to navigate out of this particular quadrant of the liquidity pool in this ocean of money. And what I’m concerned about is that we may be painting ourselves into a corner,” he said.

“We’ve done a lot … It’s not clear to me despite our theoretical ability to understand the tools very well, in practice, how we are going to get out of this. Read more here, Fed’s Fisher:” Were drowning in unemployment”

These are the kinds of admissions which result in finding a horse head in your bed. You are not supposed to speak this honestly even when trying to hide the truth in coded language. (more…)

Thomas Sowell Used To Be A Marxist?

November 8, 2012

Thomas Sowell talks about bureaucracies having no desire to solve a problem, because the existence of the problem is more important for their survival. Finding a solution that ends the problem also ends any need for the bureaucracy. Bureaucrats and Politicians don’t turn in their pitch fork and horns for a halo and wings when they get appointed or elected. Their greed for money is exchanged for a greed for power.

Our Constitutional Republic was brought into existence for one reason and one reason only, to protect the individual from coercion and dominance by other individuals, by foreign countries, but mainly from the coercion and dominance by the very  Government the Constitution created. The constitution clearly defines the powers of Government, protects the rights of individuals, and sets up a process by which the people can give the Government more power or take power away. Charles Woods, Father of SEAL Ty Woods Killed in Lybia, Interviewed By Megyn Kelly.

October 26, 2012

Here are a few excerpts from an interview with Charles Woods whose son Ty was killed in Bengahzi while trying to save others. Read more and watch the interview at the url below.

Woods said he forgives whoever denied the apparent request, but he urged them to “stand up.” Sources also said Tyrone Woods and others, who were at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. consulate, ignored orders by their superiors to stand down and not go to the consulate to help. Woods went to the consulate, and hours later he was killed back at the annex.

Charles Woods said his son’s action “does not surprise me.” “I wish that the leadership in the White House had the same level of moral courage and heroism that my son displayed“.

Mises’ “Human Action” Explains Lies About Libya.

October 25, 2012

Navy Special Warfare Trident Insignia worn by ...

The way last month’s attack in Libya, resulting in the deaths of Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans including two former SEALs,  has been used by politicians and the media is why I loathe politics. I linked to articles on SOFREP.com which were written one day after the attack which said this was a “planned and coordinated para-military attack”. They are in a post from this site on September 14. As I stated in that post SOFREP  stands for Special Operations Forces Situational Report and is run by former SEAL Brandon Webb. One of the contributors was former SEAL Glen Doherty who was killed in the Benghazi attack read more here. This site has insight and information about military operations, rules of engagement, foreign policy, and much more. It should be the first place you go to get the unvarnished truth. Their allegiance is to their brothers in the military, not to any politicians. Read October 31 2012 post Mind-Melting Breakdown of the Benghazei Attack Build Up.

Here is how “Human Action” by Ludwig von Mises helps us analyze the Libyan situation. Human action is purposeful behavior. Action is not simply verbal preference, it is the individual choosing and acting to reach a particular end. Action is a tangible thing and cannot be confused with wishes or hopes or after the fact quarterbacking. Men act to substitute what they think will be a more satisfactory state of affairs for a less satisfactory state. We wouldn’t want to change our existing state of affairs if we didn’t think the result would be better. Our action reveals the correctness of our thinking.
