FAKE NEWS

More Fake News Exposed As Media Lies About Catholic Kids, Native American Debacle, at zerohedge.com. If you watch the full video, instead of watching the edited part the media showed ad nauseam, you will have a different opinion of this contrived incident that was the top story in the news last week. If you are not interested in what really happened, because the edited video supports your vision of the world, you are part of the problem.

We should never believe the main stream media’s account of any story. When a story is reported, start with the understanding that something important may or may not have happened. And this something is being covered by people who see everything through the biased lens of their political world view. These people will leave out any information that doesn’t support their world view. If you want to know what really happened you will have to spend time looking at information that is outside of the main stream media. Analyse the information and then form your opinion. It takes time, but it is better than being propagandized by the main stream media.

The MAGA hat is what this is really all about. The Democrats and the MSM have pushed the idea that Trump and anyone who voted for him is a racist. They are attempting to have the MAGA hat take the place of the white hood as the symbol of racism. There isn’t evidence to support this claim that Trump is a racist. He only became a racist after he started running for President as a Republican. The Dems and the MSM understand that if you state a lie over and over it will become truth in many people’s minds. I have been paying attention to politics the late 70’s. This is nothing new. Reagan was portrayed as a racist. Anyone who is for smaller government is smeared as a racist. Calling your opponent racists stops all debate about any subject. Because when you are evil, anything you support no matter how logical, is evil. Read this article, Famous Liberals Who Urged Doxing, Assault, & Murder of Covington Catholic Kids Are Called Out, at zerohedge.com. The Catholic diocese tossed these kids under the bus in 24 hours. It took decades for Catholic leadership to out their pedophile priests.

The American Indian who waded into the crowd of Covington Catholic students while banging his drum was a professional protester. Don’t trust me. If you choose to know the truth read, The Truth About That Naive American by Tom Woods, or this article, Native American “Harassed” by MAGA Kids Exposed As Outrage-Cultural Grifter, at zerohedge.com.

We are all being played for fools by big government central planners in the Democrat and Republican party, and the main stream media. We are being separated into disparate groups and made to hate each other. Until more individuals understand this, we will continue down this chaotic political road we are now traveling.

Our enemy is not individuals outside of government. Our enemies are individuals in government. These individuals in government have power to force you to do things you don’t want to do. Obamacare was an example of individuals in government forcing individuals outside of government to purchase a good or service. Every dollar individuals in government take from you and distribute to others is theft of your decision to do what you want to do with your property (what you produced).

Our country was founded to protect each individual from individual politicians and bureaucrats who are in positions to wield the concentrated force of government. We have to quit buying into the propaganda of identity politics, or they win.

Excerpt from the article: “Huxley spoke of Loving our servitude: if we let the ruling elites distract and divide us, then we will in effect to choosing to love our servitude.”

“No wonder the ruling elites love how easily we’re distracted and divided against ourselves: It’s so easy to dominate a distracted, divided, blinded-by-propaganda and negative emotions populace.”

Mueller’s Office Confirms Buzzfeed’s Trump-Cohen Story Is Fake News, at zerohedge.com. More biased reporting by MSM. The MSM trick is to report about a report by another media outlet. When they report that Buzzfeed says “……..”, it serves as their version of a “weasel clause” in a contract. This is how they get out of their obligation of being “journalist”. Fewer and fewer people believe what the MSM reports.

Is Big Tech Merging With Big Brother? Kinda Looks Like It, at wired.com. When ‘Wired’ publishes an article about this, you should pay attention to the surveillance State. Excerpt from the article: “Big Brother is an emerging reality in China. Yet in the West, at least, the threat of government surveillance systems being integrated with the existing corporate surveillance capacities of big-data companies like Facebook, Google, Microsoft, and Amazon into one gigantic all-seeing eye appears to trouble very few people – even as countries like Venezuela have been quick to cop the Chinese model…..Still, It can’t happen here, right?”

What Generation Z Learned From Millennials: Skip College, by Andrew Moran, at libertynation.com. Hopefully others will learn from this.

Why The Los Angeles Teachers’ Strike Is Different, by Alia Wong, at theatlantic.com. Excerpt from the article: “Rodolfo Duenas, an L.A. native and public-school teacher who is picketing, describes this burgeoning movement as a natural next step for the many Latinos like him whose activism can be traced back to the mid-1990s, when thousands of Latino teens staged a school walkout in opposition to an anti-immigrant state-ballot initiative known as Prop 187…….those experiences eventually drove them into teaching. And Duenas’s generation has been following in the footsteps of the Latino education activists who came before them, during the 1968……Mexican Student Movement.”

Successful Title IX Complaint Forces Tulane University To End Gender Discrimination, by Mark J. Perry, at carpediemblog. Tulane has agreed to stop discriminating against male students. It was originally passed in 1972 to help women. Like all laws, it has been used for purposes it was not intended. Now the pendulum is starting to swing back.

And The Most Politically Biased Profession Is….., at zerohedge.com. This is based on donations paid to political parties by different industries. No shock that media, entertainment, academics, and online computer services are way to the left. Or that agriculture, mining, and construction are mainly to the right. While banking and finance, hedge funds and private capital, and lobbyists are split down the middle. What does this tell us. Those industries from the right and the middle are paying money to politicians in order to be protected from the coercive power of government or to receive favors from government. Can we agree that if government has power to help or hurt your business, it has too much power. On the other side, media, entertainment, academics, and online computer services are information industries. They are not just paying for protection (even though they don’t need protection because they are protected by the first amendment) they are paying to push the big government central planning agenda that they truly believe in. These information industries gladly push the leftist agenda on their information platforms. The other industries don’t have an information platform to try to push an agenda. In fact these industries have to hope the biased “information industries” don’t lie about them.

Socialism’s Three Disciples: educated Idiots, Uneducated Idiots, and Evil Puppet Masters, by Shane Kastler, at targetliberty.com. Excerpt from the article: Isn’t a system based on free trade preferable to government controlled trade? Would we not prefer to make our own decisions, rather than handing them over to a 3rd party state apparatus? What about property rights? The capitalist is often legitimately perplexed as to why a socialist would push for more and more government control over life, liberty, and property rather than keeping the rights of self-reliance under our own control. The answer to this socialistic enigma finds its genesis in three groups of people: the over-educated ignorant; the under-educated ignorant; and the puppet masters in power who convince them of Socialism’s benefits. At the end of the day it is the puppet masters who benefit the most; but they need the proverbial “useful idiots” to stir up a crowd, storm the capitalists, or stuff the ballot box. America is in danger of this happening today.”

Imagine If The Media Had As Much Sympathy For Small Business Owners As It Does For Federal Employees, by Ryan McMaken, at mises.org. The media never cared about  small business owners and their employees who were hammered when the Fed induced housing bubble crashed in 2008. They also didn’t care when these same people got hammered again when Obamacare kicked in and insurance prices “necessarily skyrocketed”. But I guess federal employees are more important than small business owners and their employees. Even though small business owners and their employees are the ones who pay government employees salaries, their benefits, and their retirements. Heck, tax payer money pays the taxes these government workers pay to the government. Quit your complaining. It is falling on deaf ears.

Decentralization Is The Solution To The Government Shutdown, by Ryan McMaken, at mises.org. Shrinking the size and scope of government is the solution to this problem.

Shutdown ‘Crisis’? by john Stossel, at townhall.com. The Government shutdown is not a “crisis”. Even though politicians and their media get away car drivers, are trying to portray it as a “crisis”. We know they can never let a serious crisis go to waste. The government is not the economy. Government exists as a parasite on the private sector economy. If the private sector economy produces $19.4 trillion in GDP. And the federal government spends $4.4 trillion, all of which it confiscates from the $19.4 trillion produced by the private sector. Which is more important in the production of the standard of living existing in our country today? Is it the $19.4 that the private sector produces, or the $4.4 trillion that the federal government steals and spends?

The Republican Leadership Doesn’t Like Us.

December 12, 2013
budget

budget (Photo credit: 401(K) 2013)

If you think Democrats and the Republican Leadership are on different sides of the aisle, think again. Both are upset with liberty minded groups because these groups are fighting the growth of Government. Both parties want to expand the size of Government which brings with it a corresponding increase of power. This expansion means the individual will have less freedom. When Government grows the individual shrinks. Here is a video of John Boehner getting upset at the very group of people who have helped keep his rear end in power.

Speaker Boehner said, “If you’re for more deficit reduction you are for this agreement.”

How serious are they at deficit reduction if all they can cut is $23 billion in ten years, with most of the cuts coming in the outer years of the budget (which never happens). The Government spends roughly $3.5 trillion a year. So they can only find $23 billion to cut out of the $35 trillion they will spend in ten years (and that’s if spending remains at $3.5 trillion a year). That’s $23, 000,000,000.00 out of $35,000,000,000,000.00,  or 23 dollars out of every 35,000 dollars, or 2 dollars and 30 cents out of every 3 thousand 5 hundred dollars, or 23 cents out of every 3 hundred 50 dollars, or 2.3 cents out of every 35 dollars. Two pennies out of every thirty-five dollars! Are you kidding me? You wouldn’t even waste the time picking up two pennies if they fell out of your pocket. I guess it all depends on what the meaning of the word “more” is, if this is “more” deficit reduction.

The republicans are not serious about reducing Government, they’re only interested in stopping a potential Government shutdown from happening when the present continuing resolution expires. They think a shutdown will hurt their electoral chances in 2014. Both parties battle each other politically in order to gain control of Government power. The minority party has some limited power in order to be a counter weight against the majority party, but remember, both have power over you. Both parties have power to force you to do things you may not want to do. Every individual and group of individuals who work to roll back the power of Government, are an enemy of not just the democrat party, but also the republican party establishment. This is why both parties are trying to attack the credibility of liberty minded groups, tea party groups, small L libertarians, and any politician who is backed by these groups. But don’t be afraid of their attacks. They attack us because they fear us, and they fear us because they don’t control us. If people like us washed our hands of the republican party, they could never regain the majority position.

Let’s Think About The Shutdown, The Debt Ceiling, And Obamacare.

October 15, 2013
Former logo

Former logo (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

The President and Congress are the actors and we are the audience as the shutdown, debt ceiling, and obamacare political theater is being played out in Washington D. C. We must always remember that everything a politician does and says has to be analyzed from the stand point of what each politician values most. For most politicians they value staying in, and gaining more power above everything. Some may have other motives, but, if we start with this basic understanding of what they are really trying to accomplish instead of believing what they say they are trying to do, our odds of seeing through the political B. S. go up exponentially. Let’s take a look the shutdown, the debt ceiling, and Obamacare from the perspective of their political self-interest.

THE SHUTDOWN

The U.S. hasn’t passed a budget since the President signed an omnibus spending bill in April of 2009. Since then we have been operating on continuing resolutions. When a budget is passed it recommends spending levels for mandatory and discretionary programs. In order for a discretionary program to be funded, an appropriations bill has to be passed, but a mandatory program, like social security, is funded without an appropriations bill. When an appropriations bill runs out and there has been no budget passed, a continuing resolution (CR) is passed which funds discretionary programs at current or expanded levels. If a CR isn’t passed, discretionary programs are cut to essential personal only. Mandatory programs are always funded. As boring as that was, we should have a basic understanding of how your tax dollars are appropriated. Now let’s look at this through the political theater prism.

Each actor is trying to convince you, the audience, that the other actor is responsible for the Government shutdown. They think winning this blame game helps them in their quest to stay in, and gain more power. The President is attempting to make the shut down have as negative  an effect on as many people as possible because he feels he can convince us, with the help of the main stream media, that republicans are responsible for all the negative effects that he chose to inflict on us. He probably never thought he would be in this position because he figured the republicans would surrender like they always do when they get attacked. The only reason they haven’t surrendered is because Senators Ted Cruz and Mike Lee have inspired small Government individuals to let their voices be heard. If public opinion wasn’t so strong this would have been over weeks ago.

Only about 20% of the Government is shut down, and if the shut down continues, people will begin to figure out we can get along just fine with smaller Government. Government is not the end all and be all that politicians try to convince us it is.

THE DEBT CEILING

Most of the R’s and D’s, in this recent debt ceiling debate, have been on the other side of the debate during previous debt ceiling debates. This point shows it’s all about politics. We are told by central planning progressives, that the U.S. will default when the debt ceiling is reached, this is a lie. The Government is legally bound, by section 4 of the fourteenth amendment of the constitution, to pay the interest on their debt. The Government takes in over $200 billion a month in taxes and pays close to $20 billion a month in interest on the debt. They will have more than enough to pay off the monthly interest on the debt. Politicians want the debt ceiling raised because they don’t want to make the hard decisions about what they will have to cut out of a $3.7 trillion budget, if they are forced to only spend the $2.5 trillion confiscated from taxpayers. This is the equivalent of  passing a balanced budget amendment without passing a balanced budget amendment. Our credit rating would be better because we wouldn’t be going deeper in debt, and the Fed wouldn’t have to electronically print the counterfeit money that is presently being used to purchase Government debt. These are all good things for the country as a whole, but not being able to spend would be the last thing a politician wants. Their power comes from their ability to make rules, and redistribute money. Less money leads to smaller Government and neither party wants less power.

OBAMACARE

Here is the simple truth about Obama care. It is the final step to a single payer government-run health care system. That is the progressives ultimate goal. These central planners want insurance premiums to rise. They also want employers to drop their insurance plans, dump their employees onto the Government exchanges, and pay the fine, or tax, or whatever it is. They want private health insurance to go by the wayside and be replaced by Government insurance, although Government insurance isn’t insurance in the true sense of the word. Government insurance is nothing more than a transfer payment from producers to nonproducers.

Single payer is something progressives have wanted for decades, so it’s more important to them than their political skins. They will do anything, lie, cheat, beg, borrow or steal, (oh yeah, they already have), to implement a single payer system.

CONCLUSION

When it comes to politicians, you have to know what they value most in order to understand what they’re doing. Politicians, 1)  value their power most and will do anything to keep it, 2) value their ideology or vision above everything, including keeping their position of power, or 3) honestly think they are doing what is right. Keep these in mind every time you here a politician open his mouth.

Observations From The Margin

October 4, 2013
Observation Tower

Observation  (Photo credit: mooglet)

-The shooting at the Washington Navy Yard begs the question. Besides MP’s, why aren’t military personnel, who are trained in the use of firearms, allowed to carry weapons on military installation? Did we not learn anything from the Fort Hood shootings? The only individuals armed at the Navy Yard and Fort Hood, other than the MP’s, were the two killers. Had other military personnel broken the law and carried a firearm, like the killers did, fewer people would have died.  “If it saves just one life, isn’t it worth it” to change this rule. This policy was apparently set in stone during the George H W Bush administration in 1992, read here,

-The IRS is the Government agency tasked to administer Obamacare. The National Treasury Employees Union, which represents IRS workers, wants an exemption from Obamacare for its members. Congressmen and their staffs passed Obamacare into law, now they have an exemption from Obamacare. The law is supposed to apply to everyone equally. Apparently some people are more equal than others.

-The President said that raising the debt ceiling won’t increase the debt. The simple fact that the Federal budget has yearly increases already built-in, and interest payments have to be paid on 1 trillion dollars of new debt incurred every year, proves he is either ignorant or a liar.

-If the Government takes $2.4 trillion in taxes from producers, and spends $3.7 trillion annually, that means that approximately 33 cents (actually it’s more), out of every dollar spent by Government is borrowed, whether it’s money spent to pay the president’s salary, or used to purchase paper clips. How many years would it take for you to go bankrupt if you borrowed 33cents out of every dollar you spent? How long would it take if you were allowed to counterfeit money?

-When the President compared the glitches in the health care exchange website to Apple having minor problems with iOS 7 mobile operating system, he forgot the most important difference between the two, which is Apple can’t force you to purchase their product while the Government is forcing you to purchase health care insurance. That simple difference produces incentives which changes how the supplier of the good or service deals with the consumer.

-The Government “shut down” is nothing more than a political game to see who can win the blame game. Any area of Government that can be shut down for the political benefit of the administration will be shut down at the expense of the public (the WWII memorial is an example). And any sob story created by the shut down will be trotted out in front of a compliant media for the political benefit of big Government politicians.

-If we involuntarily fund the Federal Government through taxes, how can the Government be more important than the private sector? The private sector produces what Government redistributes or consumes, and the Government produces nothing that the private sector wants or couldn’t produce more efficiently.

-I bet you tip waiters even if they provided lousy service, but you would never write a check to the Federal Government for one penny more than what your tax preparer said you owed in taxes.

-The Senate has not passed a budget to fund the Federal Government in five years, even though the House of Representatives has sent a budget to them every year. The Senate democrats actions tell us that they think they can gain more politically by having a yearly fight over passing a continuing resolution, than what they could gain by passing a budget.

-“Economist” Nancy Pelosi has stated in the past that, “…unemployment insurance is one of the biggest stimuluses to out economy….it is a job creator...” (watch video here). If that’s the case, we should have a permanent Government shutdown, layoff all Government employees,  give them unemployment compensation and sit back and let the stimulative effect of unemployment insurance create enough jobs to employ these furloughed workers.
